Platform Migration 12/23

Next monday, the website will be switching webhost platforms over from AWS to Netlify in effort to reduce costs.

Please be sure to keep note of your user settings as there is a chance they will be wiped as part of the migration.

I wish everyone Happy Holidays!
As always,

Mid-Patch 9.23: Customizable Item Builds

I am releasing a new test feature for customizing item builds. I have been asked multiple times for builds outside of just the standard one. For ARAM, I viewed this as especially important since off-meta builds are more common.

Now on top of the item builds section, you will see a gear icon. Clicking on it will toggle the item builds settings. From this menu you can now slide the setting that you want more of. For example, on the Ezreal page sliding the AP slider will result in an AP build for ezreal.
An example AP Ezreal build

Setting things up for AD champs is a bit trickier as you have to moderate both AD, AS and lifesteal.

With this change, off meta builds like full lethality varus or tanky veigar are just a few of the example builds that can be achieved. Even AP nasus is a possibility! (but for the sake of your team please do not build AP nasus)

One thing to note is that absurd builds that no one uses cannot be generated. Builds like AP Sivir or AD veigar do not successfully generate. This is because there is not enough data of people using those builds. But common off-meta builds do successfully generate.

This feature comes as part of Murderbridges vision for a dynamic builds page; where there is no one end all be all build for a champion.

You might have also noticed that the About page is also now much more readable; with more eye friendly colors, font and layout. I should've made this change ages ago!

I wish everyone Happy Holidays!

Patch 9.14: Multiregional Live Summoner Support and Skills Update

Hi guys,
I'm opening up multiregional live search to public testing.
Currently, I am unable to support live search for Garena and China regions because their games are not hosted on Riot Servers or available from their service.

Furthermore, I have to note that while search is supported across multiple regions, the calculations are still done off of NA data. This is because currently I still do not have the resources to support data collection on the scale of covering every single region.

I was aware that the majority of my users aren't actually based in the NA, yet they still continued to use MurderBridge. Extending the live search to cover their regions as well, was the least I can do to show my appreciation. I'm not certain if my non-NA users are reading this message, but if you are: thank you for your continual support!

You can also search through different champion skills build with the arrow keys now and hover over the information icon to see the win rates.

I have also added a reset button for settings, in the others tab in the settings window. If you are having issues with settings or some weird crashing, please try using the reset.

As always, thanks for using MurderBridge!

9.12: User Adjustable Recommendations (warning long rant) 6/12

mid 9.10: Item settings and Champion Grid 5/23

Hi guys,
Im releasing new item settings. You can now choose to filter out items with a certain win rate and adjust it to your tastes. You can also choose to filter out special items like Ornn items.
The default frequency threshold is set to 0.5% which means any item with under a 0.5% frequency is omitted. Special items are toggled off by default. Settings can be accessed from the gear icon in the navigation bar

Didn't mention this earlier, but a few days back I deployed the champion grid view as an alternative to the champion list view. You can find it on the home screen.

The home screen has also been updated with a slick new video splash!

Lastly, I finally found and hopefully fixed that dreaded bug where the application would crash when switching champions. Let me know if it still shows up and how to reproduce it if it does!

Thanks for using MurderBridge!
MurderBridge was created on the philosophy, that it's ridiculous to believe that there is one single build for a champion.

Every match is different, but more importantly every player is different.

MurderBridge aims to suggest a build, but at the same time make it easy to see statistics to choose your own build.
As hard as I'd try to come up with the algorithm to suggest builds, the reality is that I can never make everybody happy.
For example, let's take the champion Ziggs. In the past, maxing his W-satchel bomb second has a higher winrate than maxing E-explosive mines second. Yet many more people max E second over maxing W second.

This leads to the divide: Which do I reccomend?

The answer lies in the fact that some players prefer a more common and safer build, and others are more willing to try risker but higher win rate builds.

This is where the adjustable recommendations comes in.
With this new setting you can set how much you want frequency to affect the websites scoring algorithm.

You do this by tweaking two settings:
Low Frequency Percent: This is the percent that you think is a low frequency. For example, one might think if a rune was used less than 5% of the time then it'd be considered low frequency. Adjusting this field acts like a cutoff from getting recomendations lower than the specified low frequency. The default is 2.5%.

Frequency Influence: How big of an impact frequency should have in scoring.
Higher frequency influence means a more common but lower winrate build. While a lower frequency influence means the site will recommend higher win rate but less common builds. The default is 50%.

Along with these two fields, you have a graph that charts exactly how your settings will affect the website's scoring. The x axis represent the inputted frequency, and the y axis the weight that will factor into the scoring.
For example, by default only 7% of a 1% frequency rune's score will count when scoring. While a 30% frequency rune's score will be counted 100%.
All recommendations are affected when modifying this settings.
Test it out and let me know if you find any issues! Thanks for using MurderBridge!

Pre 9.10: Full Rune Tree and Search in Navigation Bar! 5/12

I am rolling out 2 highly experimental features

Many of you have ask for this, now in the champions page you can click on different rune styles to explore the full rune tree.

There is one bug I've noticed once that I have yet to be able to reproduce, that I'd like users to help me keep an eye our for: The bug is that when exploring the rune tree, the suggestions systems makes a completely senseless suggestion (I'm not talking a suboptimal suggestion but rather a complete mindless one). When I checked, this was because the code for some reason still thought that champion different from the page you're current on. I've only seen this once, and can't seem to get it to happen again, so if you come across it and can reproduce it, be sure to send me a message so I can get it fixed!

Furthermore, a search bar has been added to the navigation bar on pages that aren't the home page. This search bar will be converted to the previous search icon when the window is resized enough.

Lastly, boots is no longer suggested when the suggested runes is Magical footwear

Thanks for using MurderBridge!

Post 9.9: Champion List and Smart URL! 5/3

You can now access the Champion list quickly via the home page list button

Many of you have also asked for the functionality to type in the champions name into the url

For Example:
https://murderbridge.com/#/Champion/cow => Alistar
https://murderbridge.com/#/Champion/raka => Soraka
https://murderbridge.com/#/Champion/xz => Xin Zhao

Play around with this and let me know if I missed anything!
A couple UI clean up features have also been scattered in here and there Next week will be mostly code and ui polish and inital work on the champion grid
Thank you guys for using MurderBridge!

Mid 9.8: New User Settings Foundation! 4/25

There is now a users settings functionality in the site!

Many of you have asked for the ability to toggle off the spinner, and this setting has been included as part of the new addition

To access the user settings please click on the gear icon on the navigation bar.
To toggle the spinner please click "disable spinner animation"

This user settings piece will hopefully lay the foundational work for many settings to come! Next week, I'll be looking into reworking the ranking list!
Thank you guys for using MurderBridge!

Pre 9.8, Post Beta Release Announcement 4/12

Thank you guys so much for taking apart of the release of MurderBridge Beta! To say that I'm overwhelmed by the response would be an understatement.

I've started aggregating a bucketlist of things that need to be done from all the great feedback received. I've also spent yesterday and today, addressing messages and questions from the release but hope to start making headway on some of the highly requested features this weekend.

Between now and then, I will be preparing for the Patch changes for the upcoming 9.8.1 patch, in hopes of a smooth patch update.
Thank you guys for using MurderBridge!

9.7.1 Beta Release

We are now 3 weeks since Murderbridge has been open for initial alpha testing, small group testing.
Thank you all for participating and sharing your feedback.

On Monday, April 15th the site will be released to the larger community to initiate the beta test cycle. To be honest, not too much will be different from a user point of view. The main change from alpha to beta will be a shift in emphasis onto stablization and resiliency. During the alpha phase, my goal was to gather and iterate upon user input. While during beta, I am still taking suggestions, a good chunk of effort will be put into making Murderbridge more stable for our users.

This includes (but is not limited to):
1) More frequent patch and regular updates
2) Less Bugs and random down times
3) Cleaner styling and less funky markup behavior
4) A smarter suggestor
One caveat, that I do need to note is thate while MurderBridge isn't in the EU nor is it currently targetting an EU audience. Murderbridge uses cookies via Google analytics to gauge how to better serve our users.
If there are any questions or concerns, please feel free to shoot me a message!
